The smart water management is a futuristic strategy for scientific and systematic convergence-based management of the entire process ranging from the status analysis of water resources to the purification, distribution, and recycling of water. The Smart Water Management Initiative (SWM) will serve as a new paradigm that leads global efforts for water management using the Korea’s accumulated water management know-how and highly sophisticated information/communications technology (ICT).

As the body responsible for the operation and management of 50 dams nationwide, K-water puts its goal of integrated water resource management into practice by means of real time remote monitoring and control as well as by using precipitation forecasts, floodgate monitoring, and an integrated power generation operation system that is based on cutting-edge ICT.

Water collected at purification stations becomes healthy tap water after going through a advanced water treatment process and the 250-item water quality inspection procedure.

The potable water that is produced through a stringently-controlled procedure is supplied to end users. K-water operate an intelligent system for the real time checking of the water supply network round-the-clock and are ready to handle problems immediately.

Waste water is returned to streams through our intelligent sewage treatment process. It is turned into clean water, and is supplied again to end users.
