  • Establishing an Integrated System based on water management Know-hows

Accumulated know-hows and infrastructures are critical in integrating water management from A to Z. Smart Water Management (SWM) is an intelligent water management model covering Smart digital data to manage water scientifically, ICT system to process information in real-time and high- all aspects from water supply infrastructures to the production and distribution of water resources, Water tech skills and equipment to use big data skillfully.

  • Transforming 'Flowing Water' to 'Communicating Water'

While the purpose of conventional water management is to ensure smooth water flow from water sources to consumers, Smart Water Management(SWM) aims to realize a water management system equipped with scientific assessment tools and constant communication. Information on the whole water cycle from water source to production, supply to consumers, and reuse can be used to allocate resources precisely according to various needs through multi-way communication.
Through the application of Smart Water Management(SWM), water resources will be managed efficiently in order to maximize the benefits of water for all.

Changing the Concept of Water Management : SOURCE, TREATMENT, DISTRIBUTION, CONSUMPTION, REUSE

  • Innovating Water Management!

Smart Water Management(SWM) is an integrated water management model that ensures the stability, safety and efficiency of water by designing and operating a supply network-oriented Smart Water Grid while expanding the conventional water resource-oriented water management approach to all aspects of the entire water cycle. Smart Water Management(SWM) is truly innovative and is being introduced for the betterment of all people.

  • IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management)
Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM), the Future-Oriented Water Management Model for Benefits of Abundant, Safe Water Use on Behalf of Our Next Generation While Preserving the Harmony of Water, Nature, and Humans

Across countries, conflicts among countries regarding the use and management of water resources have intensified due to continuance of climate change and industrialization, water pollution resulting from development of upstream areas, lack of water, and distribution of water in different regions.

The IWRM is the new water management paradigm in Korea. It was designed to improve efficiency of limited water resources in a complex water environment surrounded by diverse water management entities by function and by facility along with a lack of water management institutions, while helping improve water welfare in water-scarce areas.

The IWRM takes an organic, integrated approach toward all basic and circulation processes of water. It aims to create a healthy water environment with the harmony of water volume, water quality, ecology, energy, and culture as well as create a sustainable, collaborative water culture.

  • SWG(Smart Water Grid)
The Smart Water Grid (SWG), an Intelligent Water Management System Integrating Existing Water Supply and Management Networks with ICT for Stable Supply of Water and Efficient Water Management

The SWG relies on scientific judgements and free communication so that information on entire water circulation processes from water source to production, supply, consumption, and reuse is used in a timely manner for diverse places with multi-directional delivery.

The SWG combines an existing supply-centered water management system with ICT such as smart measurement and realtime information exchanges through networking (regarding water volume, water pressure, water quality, water leak, and status of facilities). It is an advanced technology aimed to balance water supply through bilateral communication between suppliers and customers (on matters such as securing diverse water resources from underground water to rain water, recycled water, and sea water and water supply management based on realtime usage) and promote convenience and efficiency in water use.

Existing Water Management(Water Grid) + Information Communication Technologies(ICT) = Smart Water Grid(SWG) Existing Water Management(Water Grid)
