Since cop21, interest in renewable energy is growing rapidly. Together with that, raising the efficiency of renewable energy currently in use is also a topic. Therefore, in this study, As a way to increase efficiency, we analyzed the influence of the heat exchange amount on the performance of the water-water heat pump system. The Seongnam Water Treatment Plant which is operated and managed by K-water was selected for the analysis target. The Seongnam heat pump system consists of water-water heat pump, raw water pump, brine water pump, circulation water pump, water tank, heat exchanger. The instruments, such as power meter, flowmeter, thermometer, were installed for data acquisition. Prior to the study, the seongnam simulation model was constructed by TRNSYS, and verified against operational data. For convenience of analysis, a program using Excel VBA was developed. Finally, the developed program was used to derive the optimal heat exchange capacity under various operating conditions. The results of this study are expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of water-water heat pump system using raw water as a heat source.
